Shatika Turner was born and raised in Freeport, Ny. She has Cerebral Palsy and mostly uses a wheelchair and a walker. She started writing poetry at the age of 12. She seen it as a getaway from the trials and tribulations that crossed her path. As years went on, she was dubbed the name Mz. IllWitDaPen. Her poetry is said to be an inspiration as well as words of wisdom. Her ultimate goal is to be a voice to those that feel they do not have one. In 2011, with the guidance of fellow authors, Shatika released her first book, The Ill Truth on Kindle devices. Later on in the same year, Shatika independently self published "The Ill Truth" in paperback format. In 2012, she published A Fem's Playground series under Alana's Book Line. She is now back to being self published and promises to publish material that her audience can relate to.
